Why Destiny Characters Need To Have Beards

Is this a hunter or a boy band emo?  

Something  I noticed about Destiny during my experience of the Beta was, despite the insane amount of character customizations, one thing missing was  . . .  beards.  Yes you read that right beards, or better known as manhood for the face, chin straps, handle bars,  or my favorite weirdo with a beardo.

I mean think about it. I know these character classes all have epic powers, but what good is this world changing skill or ability without a mustache? Even CBS recently covered an article about why woman prefer men with beards.

Beards are more than just a fashion statement. They are for many young men who look up to their grizzly faced dads, a sign of transitioning from boy to man and chicks dig it. I honestly couldn't help feeling like I was creating a bunch of boy band emo's during Destiny's customization. The very idea of creating a beardless Hunter with throwing knives and a cool *ss cloak just didn't seem right to me.

If you have been petitioning Bungie to include the option of adding a rebellious bristle to character customizations, I have some great news as the team have taken all your suggestions into consideration.

In a recent post on Kotaku UK. 

Jonty Barnes director of Production at Bungie said, one of the biggest things the team learned about the Beta was the overwhelming requests they had for the inclusion of beards within the customizations section.

Destiny did in fact have prototype beards at one stage, explains Jonty, but the studio didn't think it was a priority at the time so moved unto other things. But since the overwhelming request after the Beta, Jonty says this is something the team should be seriously considering.

Beards may not be available in time for the upcoming launch of Destiny this coming September 9th but, a software patch with the highly requested face bush should hopefully be here in time for  St Nick to come squeezing through your chimney this Christmas.
