1.8 Million Consumers Are Still Waiting For Greatness
December 17th, 2013, By Mont BrownWe discovered some very interesting information today from Beyond3D forum indicating a whopping 1.8 million people are still on the waiting list for a Playstation 4 at gamestop. The forum user going by the name shortbread also reported 456,000 thousand PS4 units were sold between Best Buy and Gamestop during Sony's launch period, compared to 232,000 thousand Xbox One units sold during its launch period a week later. Shortbread did not have stats for other retailers, like Amazon, Walmart, or Costco, reporting figures for Best Buy and Gamestop only.
They even went on to mention that Xbox One did outsell PS4 during the Black Friday thanks giving season, but that was only because of PS4 stocks were in limited supply.
We have contacted Gamestop for clarification on this waiting list number and will let you all know once we here back. If this is the case it would mean Sony could hit 5 million units sold by mid march 2014 once those back-orders of waiting lists are cleared.
Take a loot at their post here, and tell us what you think.
